Spring Sandwort

LANDSCAPE PIC?   There are many ways you can help to conserve Upper Teesdale’s special plants. To allow our recording to continue, we need to source about £25,000 a year

Surveying has been privately funded by Margaret in the main [link to Dr M.E. Bradshaw MBE page] to date, with some very welcome support from other supporters LINK TO SUPPORTERS PAGE.

However, this funding will be exhausted shortly. More detailed baseline information on species distribution and population sizes is needed, so that we can monitor the rare species in future and contribute to measures to address the decline.

Every square counts! £10 for a 10 x 10 metre plot

We need a professional botanist to work for 120 days per year for another five years to complete the scheduled tasks. It costs approximately £10 to survey a 10m by 10m square plot. This will support field work, data entry and analysis, dissemination of results and training volunteers.

PIC OF JOHN SURVEYING

The next phase is designed to extend coverage over a much wider geographical area within Upper Teesdale and to focus on other scarce/rare species. This is skilled, labour-intensive work.
